Ken How
Ken enjoyed a long fulfilling teaching career where he taught at many of the schools throughout Prince Edward County. participant on a project that resulted in a $1.1M addition to the church building in 2012. Ken’s involvement in the Housing Ministry provided him firsthand knowledge of the great need for affordable seniors housing and ignited his passion to make affordable housing a reality for this vulnerable group. Ken has been a member of the Poverty Roundtable and the Affordable Housing Working Group for the past 8 years and is excited about the possibilities and valuable impact Pinecrest will bring to the seniors of Prince Edward County. Ken also chairs Pinecrest’s Operations Working Group.

Paul Robinson
Paul is a lifelong resident of The County. He is a semi-retired Machinist and Industrial Millwright and is currently a chapel volunteer in the Kingston federal prisons. He also volunteers with the Hockey Ministry Chaplains and works with the Wellington Dukes as their Chaplin.

Donna is very committed to supporting the communities she lives in. In the late 90's she wrote proposals for Prince Edward Child Care Services, now The Hub, developed a community-based respite initiative, coordinated Speech and Language services to be brought to families in Prince Edward County with and was part of the community response to the closure of Prince Edward Heights. Donna’s work history is varied including two school boards, two hospitals, Manager of Group Homes, Certified Water Tester and Health and Safety Person, First Aid Instructor, Teacher at Loyalist College and Resource Consultant. Donna says, “Being Jesus’ hands and feet is a daily part of my life and I am honoured to be part of the Pinecre development team”.

John Uings is ideally suited to the role of Board Member and Treasurer of Pinecrest Housing. Most of his career was spent with Rolls-Royce Aerospace where he held senior positions involving responsibility for the management of multi-million-dollar projects. This required awareness of financial issues including cost control, ensuring expenditures were matched by achievement and reporting of financial status to stakeholders. Since retiring he has been a Board Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Bloomfield, Ontario for several years and holds the office of Treasurer. In this role he has significantly improved the financial processes of this charitable organization and works closely with the accountant and annual auditor who confirms the church’s finances are in good order.
He has also been an active member of a local yacht club for many years during which time he has been a Board member and a Sail Canada qualified sailing instructor. Recently John was part of the team that redeveloped their Governance Document.
For over 30 years Phil has been a landlord in the Quinte area, where he as created positive relationships with his tenants. He has managed his units/buildings structurally and has been responsible for tenant/landlord relationships. Phil has been involved in affordable housing initiatives in Hastings County for over 10 years and he has been successful in owning and running 3 affordable housing buildings. Each of these buildings has a unique relationship with the community not for profit agencies and caters to vulnerable individuals. Phil has expertise in not only the construction/building component of creating affordable housing, but also has expertise in creating relationships with partners in the community.
Andy is an Architectural Technologist by trade and has over 20 years in the construction industry. In 2017 Andy started his own construction company, with a focus on developing and building affordable housing, and he has been involved in 7 affordable housing projects. Elbee Construction has had accountability for the design, implementation, and execution of multi million-dollar turnkey projects. They have developed a solid reputation for successfully and profitably managing numerous concurrent projects through all project phases from conception to completion, within targeted cost, schedule, and compliance parameters. Sustaining a high-performance reputation, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing corporate costs and liability have been a consistent result of Elbee Construction’s professional commitment.

Robin Hutcheson, P.Eng, LEED AP CxA
Alexis Bouma was born and raised in Prince Edward County. She is creative and has provided both administrative and management support to Theatre, Floristry, and Retail businesses. She currently runs her own business growing and designing with local flowers grown on her property in PEC. Throughout her lifetime she has seen firsthand the many changes that have come to Prince Edward County and how the lack of affordable housing has affected her friends and neighbours. She loves the idea of co-housing and being able to give seniors a home that is an integrative part of the community.
Ladislav immigrated from the former Czechoslovakia to Toronto in 1968 and currently lives in South Bay, Prince Edward County. Ladislav graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture and, upon graduation, he worked for multiple architectural firms in Toronto. While working for the prestigious WZMH Architectural company, Lad had the opportunity to hone his skills working on a number of high-profile projects. After gaining invaluable experience, Ladislav opened his own firm in 1981 and continues working on both residential and commercial projects.
Robin Hutcheson is a Performance Engineer and certified commissioning authority with thirty years of experience in the building industry and has spent the last ten years working exclusively on improving the performance of existing buildings, design of high-performance buildings and renewable energy projects. Educated as an electrical engineer, he has dedicated his career to optimizing energy systems for buildings and generation.
He is experienced in green building advisement, energy modelling and commissioning new and renovated green buildings.
